Enhance any child's room with this super cute set of wooden Fire Truck book ends. Crafted from locally sourced, sustainably harvested maple with hardwood components, non-skid bottoms and non-toxic finishes.

Size: 10-1/2" in starting length, 4-3/4" deep, and 6-1/2" tall.

Figures, wheels, and ladders are fixed in place.


About Maple Landmark

Maple Landmark is a company of 30+ people dedicated to making great product in Middlebury, Vermont. All of their products are made in Middlebury.

The majority of their products are toys and they take toy safety seriously. As required, they follow the US Consumer Product Safety Commission rules, including the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act of 2008. Their most recent third-party tests (Feb. 2009) re-confirmed all previous tests with respect to lead and heavy metals.

Their materials are below the detectible lead level of 10 ppm. The current federal standard is 100 ppm. Although it is currently unnecessary to test for phthalates in their products, they have done so. They have passed all of those tests as well.

Maple Landmark strives to produce products that will last for generations

Finishes:
- Colour Dye Stain - These are water/alcohol based stains, specially made for dip finishing, which is the least wasteful application process.  Typically an overcoat of urethane is added to prevent bleeding when wet.
- Urethane - Another dip finish, more specifically called oil-modified urethane varnish, not a polyurethane. It is a clear finish, using a mineral spirit solvent. This finish takes a little extra time to cure.
- Lacquer - Nitrocellulose lacquer is an age-old spray finish that provides a hard, shiny, paint-like coating. It can be clear or opaque bright colors. Lacquer is a petroleum-based finish.
- Ink

As with their other materials, Maple Landmark's finishes are purchased as locally as possible. Nearly all are produced in Vermont, by people they know and have worked with for many years.
